Who We AreSouthCon is an independent sales organization representing quality manufacturers of electrical equipment to the utility market. Our purpose is to represent these manufacturers in a professional manner by helping them grow market share, having the product knowledge necessary for technical sales and an in depth understanding of our territory. We maintain strong customer relationships and provide value to these customers. We strive to represent our lines and serve our customers in accordance with high standards of business ethics.
Founded in 1960, Southern Consolidated Electrical Sales, Inc. (SouthCon) is the merger of two successful companies (Glenn Huhman & Mills and United Manufacturers Representatives). The two companies unified under the name SouthCon in January of 1994. SouthCon provides coverage in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, and the Florida Panhandle. Through the planned succession of SouthCon’s first principals we are currently in our third era of ownership.
As a manufacturer’s representative, SouthCon serves the electric utility and commercial and industrial markets. We work with our partner manufacturers and distributors to provide the highest level of customer service to those in our geographic area.
Currently, SouthCon maintains two offices; Tucker, Georgia and our corporate headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.
